Community and Learning Room
The new Community and Learning Room, will take the place of the old Circle Bar on the top floor of the theatre. This is one of the most important and exciting developments to be realised during the project.
Our Head of Creative Learning, Rhiannon Fisher, has made a short video in which she explains a little more about what the Community and Learning Room will mean to us and those who benefit from our work. As you can see, this will be an excellent and well-utilised resource.
You might know that our Creative Learning department, which delivers our outreach work with vulnerable community members, already benefits around 3,000 people every year. This work currently takes place all over the theatre site wherever space is available and has to stop when we have a show on stage due to the lack of soundproofing front of house. This new room will become a permanent home for this work in a purpose-built, multi-functional and sound-proofed space with full audio-visual setup too, and will enable us to increase beneficiaries by around 50% in the next few years.
